Amek

Amek

Amek was a brilliant and somewhat confusing company formed in the early 70's building recording and broadcast consoles. TAC was the live console and semi pro brand. Harman bought the company in the late 90's and dropped Amek as a brand in 2005 in favour of Soundcraft. The consoles produced was often fitted with good preamps and sweet sounding eq. However some of their very many models suffered from poor component choice, not the best build quality and weird names. Good ones: 2500 / 2520 (the plasma meters was crap though) Angela Angela II Hendrix Mozart (not to many RN modules, heat problems) 9098 BC-2 BC-3 Media 51 Not so Good: Einstein Gallileo Rembrandt Big by Langley Recall The outboard is generally good or very good.
