This discrete op-amp based preamplifier brings together classic transformer tone, modern flexibility and smart studio routing in a compact professional design. Built with Jensen® input transformers, an Avedis custom output transformer and the discrete 1122 op-amp, it offers depth, resolution, wide bandwidth and generous headroom.
Gain is selectable from 0 dB to 64 dB in precise 4 dB steps, making settings easy to recall, while the input trim allows finer control. There is no input pad, so the input transformer can be pushed naturally during louder peaks for extra colour and saturation when desired.
The unit also includes a line input for DAW integration, a high-impedance 10 MΩ DI for instruments, and a Send/Return path that lets you patch in stompboxes or other external effects directly into the signal chain. It can even be used as a re-amplification device, making it a useful tool for creative tracking, mixing and sound design.
A versatile, all-discrete preamp with serious transformers, flexible routing and a bold, musical signal path. Designed and manufactured in Los Angeles.
