In 1984, the H969 Harmonizer was introduced as the third model in the Harmonizer line.

This version, the H969, pushed technological boundaries to enhance the core features and effects of the Harmonizer. This enhanced "ProPitch" Harmonizer offered a cleaner and much more precise pitch change.

The pitch change capability was expanded by a full octave, and its dual coarse/fine controls allowed for even more precise tuning. The delay capacity was extended to 1.5 seconds at full bandwidth, and up to 3 seconds at half bandwidth. The H969 also became a versatile multi-effects unit, introducing a new Doppler effect and expanding capabilities like Flange, Repeat, and Reverse.

One of the standout features of the H969 was the delay and pitch preset buttons. These were quite groundbreaking at a time when presets were not yet common in professional audio gear. The Delay section included five buttons to let users easily set their own preferred delay values. Additionally, the pitch preset section had 12 fixed pitch change buttons at musical intervals, each adjustable as sharp or flat.

Inside, the H969 utilized a specialized 2901 bit-slice processor engine. It uesd autocorrelation to intelligently identify optimal splice points for seamless de-glitching. The integration of two DACs enhanced low-frequency performance. A microcontroller interpreted commands from the front panel switches and controlled the multicolor display. Notably, the H969 was a pioneer in utilizing 16-bit linear PCM coding.
