JHS Spring Tank

The Spring Tank Reverb is a charmingly quirky lo-fi reverb with a character all its own. More slapback-like than lush or ambient, it delivers a raw, springy echo that stands apart from more conventional reverb designs.

One of its most creative features is the dedicated effects loop. This lets you process only the reverb signal while leaving your dry guitar untouched. Drop in a wah, fuzz, octave, or even another reverb, and the spring reflections take on a completely new personality without muddying your core tone.

The dual spring tank mode adds even more flexibility. With a footswitchable second level, it feels almost like having two reverb presets on hand, ready to jump between different depths and textures.

And for those comparing it to the Alpine Reverb, here is the interesting part: the Spring Tank Reverb is effectively the V2. Despite what some reviews may suggest, the circuit is the same. The real difference is simply the enclosure size.
