Microtech Gefell UM70, M7Large PVC multi-pattern capsule

The UM 70 is a dual PVC membrane, center-terminated capsule with a single brass backplate and switchable polar patterns. It offers omni, cardioid, and figure-8 pickup options, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of recording applications.

Part of the SMS 70 Studio Microphone System, the UM 70 is compatible with the MV 691 and MV 692 preamplifier bodies. With a special adapter, it can also be used on the CMV 563, and with modification, on the M582 (to accept threaded capsule mounts).

Originally introduced in 1970, the UM 70 remained in production until the mid-1990s and is still regarded for its flexibility and classic sound.
