The Neumann KMR 81i is a short shotgun microphone designed for film dialogue and medium distance audio capture.
It has a lobe shaped pattern with a 90° pickup angle, and is highly directional, retaining the same acceptance angle independent of frequency. It has a frequency range of 20 Hz-20 kHz, with an SPL of 138 dB.
It includes a -10dB pad and high-pass filter switch, both of which can be engaged and disengaged on the mic body. It also features a pressure gradient transducer and interference tube for improved sound capture.
