RCA 44 BX Vintage Ribbon Mic early1950´s (M-4017D)

RCA 44BX is one of those microphone that can, without a doubt, be called a legend. It almost singlehandedly created the broadcast, film and the recording industry we know today. Look at any studio photo from the 40's and 50's and you will see an RCA 44.

Initially introduced in 1931, by 1940 the 44 has been upgraded to the BX version, receiving a better ribbon suspension.

The RCA 44 microphones are considered incredibly natural sounding, very flat from 50 to 15000 Hz.

This particular microphone has been made in the early 50's, has been very well maintained and is in excellent condition .

The mic comes with a built in XLR output and a mount that allows for 90 degree adjustment, mainly used for overhead suspension.

The mic has two frequency response modes: voice and music. The mode is switchable by changing the jumper under the transformer casing. (Full operation manual is available in digital format)
