SSL LMC 500 series #2

The Solid State Logic LMC+ brings one of SSL’s most characterful studio tricks into the 500-series format. Originally born from the legendary Listen Mic Compressor circuit in early SL 4000 consoles, the LMC became a not-so-secret weapon throughout the 1980s, especially for explosive ambient drum sounds, crushed room mics and bold creative compression.

The LMC+ keeps that unmistakable SSL attitude, but expands the original concept with hands-on control over previously fixed parameters. A variable threshold with automatic make-up gain lets you push the compression from subtle attitude to full-on destruction, while the wet/dry mix control makes parallel compression quick and natural.

High and low pass filters can be placed in the main wet path or in the compressor sidechain, opening the door to frequency-dependent compression and more focused effects. The Split mode turns the unit into a band-selective compressor, while the Scoop function allows unusual inverse compression textures by inverting the signal into the compressor.

A compact but highly creative SSL processor for drums, room mics, vocals, loops and sound design, the LMC+ is all about character, movement and attitude. Perfect when clean compression is not the point.

Palletising and crating time can vary depending on the size of the shipment and packaging queue. We pack all our shipments with great care.
