United Studio Technologies UT Vintage87 Condenser Microphone

The UT Vintage87 takes the core character of United’s Twin87 and puts it into a simpler, more focused format. It keeps the same serious component quality and classic voicing, but uses a fixed true cardioid pattern for a more direct, streamlined workflow.

There are no shortcuts here. To make the Vintage87 more accessible, United removed extra features that not every user needs and kept the parts that define the sound. That means a custom large-core, US-made output transformer, a custom dual-diaphragm dual-backplate K87-style capsule with 24k gold-sputtered diaphragms, and a carefully selected signal path built with premium capacitors, resistors, and hand-selected transistors.

The result is a microphone with a polished top end, solid midrange detail, and the kind of balanced, familiar tone that works on vocals, speech, acoustic instruments, and many other studio sources. It delivers the essence of a much more expensive classic, but in a package that is easier to reach for every day.
